Transalloys faced a twofold challenge in its industrial operations. Firstly, the control and monitoring systems were fragmented, with multiple PLC systems and SCADA HMIs operating independently. This led to siloed information, confined to individual control rooms and hindering seamless access to crucial furnace data across the network.
Secondly, the critical process of electrode management, integral for preventing equipment failures and maximising production, relied heavily on manual intervention, posing a risk of errors and inefficiencies.
Our intervention plan was multi-step, addressing both the fragmentation of systems and the intricacies of electrode management. We developed a comprehensive solution to unify the disparate control and monitoring systems, enabling seamless access to furnace data across the Transalloys network.
Additionally, we designed intuitive visualisation tools to guide operators through the complexities of electrode management, ensuring precise execution of critical operations.
